Why does my hyla unit shut off on its own when being used for air filtration? The interior light blinks when shut down occurs.
Hi Marjorie, thanks for your comment! Your HYLA is designed with a built-in timer that automatically shuts off after 30 minutes when used for air purification. This is intentional—it ensures the ideal amount of time to purify and wash your air while also being energy efficient. Plus, this feature allows you to turn your HYLA on, add your favorite fragrance, leave the house, and return to a home filled with clean, fresh-smelling air without any extra effort! If you ever need to run it longer, you can simply restart the unit. Let us know if you have any other questions!
I am thinking purchasing a used Hayla, would like to know what should I check as far as getting future service from it, and registering the unit to me?
Hi Rudy!
Thank you for your comment! We don’t recommend purchasing a pre-owned HYLA for several important reasons. Without a warranty, you won’t be able to receive service if needed, and the used unit may have missing parts, attachments, or internal motor damage. Since the HYLA is a health product, using a pre-owned unit could also bring unwanted dirt, bacteria, allergens, and other contaminants into your home, which you want to avoid. Additionally, pre-owned units cannot be registered, meaning you miss out on the full benefits of exceptional customer support and service.
If you’re interested in purchasing a HYLA, we’d be more than happy to help you find the right solution with a personalized plan that fits your needs and budget. Feel free to reach out to the HYLA USA Headquarters directly, and we’ll ensure you get the best, first class experience possible and a special promotion!

Can I add Himalayan salt to the water for negative ions to be absorbed?
Hi Prince,
We recommend only using HYLA made products — such as our Air Freshener & Deodorizer, Fragrances, Aqua Fresh, and Essential Oils to ensure compatibility and to protect your machine. This also guarantees the highest quality and performance.
If you do decide to use anything else, start with very small amounts to see how the system responds, making sure not to harm the motor, separator, or water pan.
After each use, rinse the water pan with cool tap water completely and wipe down the top part of the HYLA thoroughly around the separator to prevent any buildup.

The vacuum sucked a slim power cord around the roller up to the square electric plug. How do I remove the roller to untangle and remove the cord?
Hi Deb,
Thank you for being a valued HYLA owner! You do have a couple of options to resolve this issue—first, try turning off the electro brush and carefully pulling the cord out while slowly rotating the roller to help untangle it. We were told our hyla est would run for 30 minutes and then stop but it would start again after 8 hours as long as we didn’t turn the machine off. Is that true
Hi Tamara,
Thank you for your question! The HYLA EST Defender is designed to run and then shut off automatically once the air cleaning cycle is complete. After the air wash cycle finishes, the system remains in standby mode and can easily be turned back on using your remote. However, it does not automatically restart after 8 hours.
If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at the HYLA USA Headquarters at (954) 571-5550 — our team will be happy to assist you!
How do I use the wet vac for the hyla est?
Hi JoAnn,
Thank you for your question!
The Nimbus wet cleaning system is very simple to connect to your system and use with your HYLA. It truly enhances the overall machine and enhances cleaning power!
To set it up, you simply attach the NIMBUS to the back of your HYLA by popping off the exhaust grid. Once it’s connected, you’re ready to start wet cleaning.
It comes with everything you need for different surfaces, including an upholstery nozzle, a hard floor nozzle, and a carpet adapter so you can use it across multiple areas in your home. It also includes a carpet and upholstery cleanser for deep shampooing and helping remove stains, plus a hard floor cleanser designed to bring shine back to your floors and other hard surfaces.

Hello, how often should the filter be replaced?
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your question – your HYLA actually has ZERO filters. That’s one of the many features that makes HYLA so special and the smartest choice for your home! Unlike other vacuums or cleaning devices with traditional filters that clog and need replacing, the HYLA uses water as its natural filter. Not only is this more sustainable, cost efficient, and eco-friendly — it’s also more effective, since everything gets trapped in the water and never blown back into your home.
All you need to do is refill and change the water inside the water pan after every cleaning session. We also recommend rinsing out the water pan after each use to keep your system fresh and performing at its best. No filters to replace, ever!

Great machine,
Allergens, dust mites, and air Bourne toxins are all suspended in the water basin.
For cleaning mattresses spray them rubbing alcohol, then after the alcohol mist dries, then just vacuum.
And it will surprise you, what happens.
Have a great day.
Hi Phil,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying the HYLA and seeing firsthand how effectively it captures allergens, dust mites, and airborne toxins in the water pan—it’s truly a game changer for healthier living!
Cleaning your mattress regularly is so important—not only to remove hidden contaminants, but also to support healthier, deeper sleep. It’s always surprising (and satisfying) to see what the HYLA can pull out of surfaces we think are already clean.

My Hyla EST has lost suction. Hoses and gaskets are great. Doesn’t suck enough to pick up a dust particle. I have tried calling headquarters with no avail. They said I would be contacted, but nothing. In the meantime my carpets are getting pretty dirty. Any ideas to try???

I haven’t had mine even a week yet but I’m loving it so much. My question is how often can I run the hyla for air purification in one sitting? I know I’d need to turn it on after the auto shut down, but is there a limit? Like how many cycles in a row? I’d love to deep clean a musty room and only running it in the morning, mid day and evening for 30 minutes zis gonna take a while to get it done.
Hi Manta,
Thank you for your feedback! We’re so happy to hear you’re already loving your HYLA, you have an incredible journey of enhanced home cleaning and natural health ahead of you! Welcome to the HYLA USA Family!
You can absolutely run it as often as you’d like, there’s no limit to the air wash cycles. The great news is, it isn’t actually necessary to run it several times in a row. For most homes, running the HYLA once per room, per day is usually more than enough to keep the air fresh and purified.

I notice that in every picture on your site it shows a wood floor and a very thin carpet. I have a plush carpet and I must say although the Hyla does a great job pulling out the dust and dirt, it is a pain to move around on thick carpet, especially when I’m fighting with the electric cord as well. Is there any advice for an easier way to move the machine around???
Hi DeAna,
Thanks so much for your comment and for being a part of the HYLA USA Family! We’re glad to hear your HYLA is doing such a great job pulling dust and dirt out of your carpet, that’s the deep cleaning performance we’re known for!
Which HYLA model do you currently own? With some of the earlier models, it can feel a little tougher to move on plush carpet. The latest model, the HYLA EST Defender, was designed with this in mind. It has wheels embedded right into the trolley, making it much easier to maneuver, even on thicker carpets.
We love that you’re experiencing such a deep clean, and we’re always here to make sure your HYLA experience is the best it can be!

First off, I love our Hyla vacuum! Recently though, the lights on the vacuum head stopped working, which in turn, isn’t connecting the vacuum so it’s not working. If I unplug it from the main handle, everything works from there. We cleaned what we could get to. What can I try to get it working again?
Hi Lynae,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and for being a loyal HYLA owner! We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing technical difficulties. Based on your description, it’s a bit difficult to determine the exact cause here.
Please give us a call at our HYLA USA Headquarters at (954) 571-5550, and one of our service technicians will be more than happy to assist you directly and better understand the issue.
We truly appreciate your loyalty and look forward to helping you get your HYLA back to peak performance!
I have a lot of suctioning power. How do I clean calcium buildup on the separator? I am guessing that is the problem.
Hi Kathryn,
Thank you for sharing your experience with your HYLA! While the HYLA is self cleaning and equipped with our patented separator technology, some buildup can still occur depending on usage. We recommend using 2-3 capfuls of Air Freshener & Deodorizer with every use to prevent buildup and for an amazing scent in your home. A gentle scrub of the separator with a toothbrush can also help with deeper cleaning as a simple fix.
If you’re still noticing residue, we recommend adding a few drops of Aqua Clean to the water pan and running the unit in Air Wash mode with fresh water for a thorough clean.
We appreciate your feedback and are always here to help if you need further assistance! You can also contact us at the HYLA USA Headquarters at (954)571-5550 for direct and personal assistance.
We just bought a new Hyla 4 days ago and I have tried the Hyla Baked Apple and Fresh Linen essential oils but they have not put the aroma in the house like when our salesman demonstrated it. Any suggestions? I am using 2-3 drops like he suggested.
Hi Janna,
Thank you for your comment and congratulations, welcome to the HYLA USA family! You can always add more fragrance to enjoy a stronger scent in your home. The recommended usage is 2-3 squeezes, not drops. We have a wide variety of best selling fragrances to enjoy a wonderful, natural scent when you use your HYLA in air purification or cleaning mode! We are always happy to assist you with anything you need!

My Hyla EST, used as an air purifier only, has lost output strength, and when water is filled to below the proper line, it throws water on the floor. It didn’t originally. I regularly clean and refill the bottom unit. Is there something in the top Unit that needs cleaning? Its not covered in my instructions.
Hi Kath,
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for being a loyal HYLA owner! We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing technical difficulties. Based on your description, it’s a bit difficult to determine the exact cause but it does sound like you’re having some trouble with your separator.

I have messaged the company about replacement, stated that the vacuum is 100% replacement if it breaks with in 10 years it’s been 5 and the whole vacuum is falling apart. There has been zero communication from this company after information has been sent. $5000 machine is now just collecting dust in a closet, plus having to buy a new vacuum. Waste of money
